Role Description: 

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts across web and desktop applications. Working closely with our development, QA, and product teams, you will collaborate to understand new features, design and implement robust test automation frameworks, and continuously improve our automation processes.

Your day-to-day tasks will involve identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs, performing regression testing, and enhancing test coverage to ensure our products are of the highest quality. You will also participate in code reviews, providing valuable feedback on testability and overall quality, and contribute to the efficiency of our release cycles by integrating automated tests into our CI/CD pipelines.

To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in programming, particularly in languages such as Java, C#, or JavaScript, and be proficient in using automation tools like Playwright, Selenium, Appium, and TestNG. A deep understanding of software QA methodologies, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills, will enable you to identify trends and report on the health of our products effectively. 

Responsibilities: 

As a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, Individuals are expected to fulfil the following responsibilities but are not limited to the below: 

  • Collaborate with team to define and identify quality metrics for software applications.
  • Design and develop quality assurance solutions for CData’s cloud based products using manual and automated solutions.
  • Collaborate with the development team to understand new features and create corresponding automated tests.
  • Design and implement test automation frameworks.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs using issue tracking tools.
  • Perform regression testing and identify areas of the application that require additional automated test coverage.
  • Continuously improve the automation process and toolsets.
  • Ensure the reliability and scalability of automated tests.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality.
  • Work closely with QA, development, and product teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and efficient release cycles.
  • Analyze test results, identify trends, and report on the overall health of the product.
  • Any other work/responsibility as assigned by the manager.

Experience:

  • Experience with creation, management & execution of automated test scripts, plans & suites and tooling such as Azure DevOps, Jira, XRay, Qase, or similar.
  • Experience working with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, TestNG, XUnit, JUnit, Testing Library, Jest, Enzyme, Cypress or similar.
  • Experience working with performance, load, and accessibility testing such as Artillery, JMeter or similar.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Github actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Travis CI).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman).

Qualifications

  • BA or BS from accredited university in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a quality assurance automation engineer.
