Announcing CData Virtuality 4.9: Enhanced Security Platform, Improved Clustering, and Increased Connectivity

Announcing CData Virtuality 4.9

We are delighted to announce the release of CData Virtuality 4.9, featuring significant updates and improvements.

Here's what’s new:

  • Support for third-party security vaults for enhanced security
  • Improved clustering for high-availability deployments
  • BigQuery support as analytical storage within CData
  • Seven new connectors for diverse integration needs

Enhanced support for third-party security vaults

CData Virtuality 4.9 lays the foundation for robust support for third-party security vaults by replacing the legacy PicketBox solution with Elytron. This upgrade centralizes security management, lowers development and maintenance costs, and enhances regulatory compliance. The first integration, Azure Key Vault, is set to launch with version 4.10, with additional vault options planned for future updates.

Improved clustering for high-availability deployments

Version 4.9 introduces substantial improvements to clustering, ensuring greater scalability, reliability, and performance for high-availability deployments. These enhancements enable CData Virtuality to manage and balance workloads more effectively across multiple nodes, reducing bottlenecks and improving fault tolerance. Users can expect smoother data processing, faster response times, and an optimized experience even under heavy loads. These advancements are particularly valuable for enterprises requiring consistent uptime and seamless scalability to meet evolving data integration demands.

BigQuery as analytical storage (developer preview)

Starting with version 4.9, BigQuery can be utilized not only as a data source but also as analytical storage, significantly expanding its role within the CData Virtuality ecosystem. In this developer preview, you can explore BigQuery’s capabilities as analytical storage, enabling a flexible, cost-effective way to store, query, and analyze large datasets directly within integration pipelines. Leveraging BigQuery as analytical storage allows you to benefit from its powerful, serverless architecture, which ensures scalability and reduces the operational overhead of maintaining physical storage solutions.

Expanded connectivity

CData Virtuality 4.9 features an extended set of new connectors to support diverse integration needs, including:

  • ServiceNow
  • Workday
  • Paylocity
  • Sage Intacct
  • Jira
  • Zuora
  • Kintone
