Human Resources Business Partner

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, plays a critical role reinforcing our exceptional workplace culture as a primary strategic initiative. This objective is met through curating CData's existing culture, maintaining an engaging and supportive recruitment process to hire top talent, providing a positive and engaging onboarding experience, facilitating benefits administration, addressing any employee relation concerns thoughtfully, all while providing support for the organization’s strategic business initiatives and goals (Sounds fun and easy, right?). To achieve this, you’ll need progressive talent recruitment experience along with knowledge across multiple HR disciplines. 

Location(s): Chapel Hill, NC 

Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Recruitment: 
    • Own the full talent acquisition life cycle (postings, sourcing, initial phone screens, coordination of interviews, offers, etc.) for all assigned requisitions. Work with hiring managers to create/update job descriptions, establish interview stages/interviewers, determine key competencies to assess, structured interview questions, assessments, etc. 
    • Maintain notes, candidate status, workflow, pipeline, etc. in the company’s current Applicant Tracking System 
    • Consistently engage with and provide updates to hiring managers/execs on status of recruitment to achieve time to fill goals of less than thirty days. 
    • Establish/Maintain efficient processes for recruiting workflow and candidate experience 
    • Consult with external consultants and staffing firms as needed 
  • New Hires: 
    • Conduct hiring activities for all accepted offers; background checks, HR System processes (ADP,) Form I-9's, welcome information, etc.
    • Notify and coordinate with IT, Finance, and Marketing new hire’s setup needs, Welcome box items, etc. to ensure a seamless and positive new hire experience even before their first day
    • Coordinate with hiring manager to establish a ramp plan for engaging, onboarding, and training new hire
    • Conduct new hire orientations, complete hiring processes in ADP, ensure new hires complete enrollment of benefits, required training, etc. 
    • Conduct check-ins with managers/new hires throughout the first ninety days
  • Benefits: 
    • Assist HR VP with benefits administration to include employee questions, claims resolutions, change reporting, and ongoing benefits information to employees 
  • General HR:  
    • Assist in the development and implementation of new policies, procedures, and applications  
    • Maintain/improve employer branding on Glassdoor and other social sites 
    • Develop and maintain strong consultative relationships with employees, managers, and executives 
    • Generate employment change letters (comp increase, position change, manager change, etc.) 
    • Assist with planning and coordination of employee-focused, engagement activities/development activities/events in partnership with CData’s culture club 
    • Recommend innovative approaches and procedures to continually improve efficiency of departmental processes and initiatives 
    • Assist HR VP in ensuring compliance is met regarding EEO, SOC2, state employment laws, benefits management, etc. 
    • Continuously monitor the “pulse” of the organization and suggest ideas to leadership to further engage, motivate and support employees. 
    • Partner with managers at all levels to evaluate team productivity, career growth of current team members, headcount needs, etc. 
  • Payroll: 
    • Maintain payroll tracker to ensure new hires, terms and compensation changes are correctly captured during each pay period
  • Perform other project and initiatives as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification from accredited university or equivalent business experience in Human Resources/Talent Acquistion/Talent Management  
  • 5+ years’ experience in talent acquisition for software/technology company 
  • Experience managing the entire talent acquisition life cycle and onboarding 
  • Experience with HRIS (ADP), ATS (Greenhouse) and performance management software is preferred 
  • Familiarity with current state employment and payroll requirements  
  • Exposure/Experience in multi-culture global technology environment is preferred 
  • Passion/drive for remaining current on ever changing employment laws and requirements 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information 
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a team-oriented, collaborative, workplace 
  • Self-driven, articulate, approachable and comfortable working in a rapidly growing/changing environment 
  • Proficiency in MS Office products 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (can communicate confidently with all levels in an organization)
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills 

Travel Required: No ongoing regular travel expected.
