Connect to Monday.com Data in RapidMiner



Integrate Monday.com data with standard components and data source configuration wizards in RapidMiner Studio.

This article shows how you can easily integrate the CData JDBC driver for Monday.com into your processes in RapidMiner. This article uses the CData JDBC Driver for Monday.com to transfer Monday.com data to a process in RapidMiner.

Connect to Monday.com in RapidMiner as a JDBC Data Source

You can follow the procedure below to establish a JDBC connection to Monday.com:

  1. Add a new database driver for Monday.com: Click Connections -> Manage Database Drivers.
  2. In the resulting wizard, click the Add button and enter a name for the connection.
  3. Enter the prefix for the JDBC URL: jdbc:monday:
  4. Enter the path to the cdata.jdbc.monday.jar file, located in the lib subfolder of the installation directory.
  5. Enter the driver class: cdata.jdbc.monday.MondayDriver
  6. Create a new Monday.com connection: Click Connections -> Manage Database Connections.
  7. Enter a name for your connection.
  8. For Database System, select the Monday.com driver you configured previously.
  9. Enter your connection string in the Host box.

    You can connect to Monday.com using either API Token authentication or OAuth authentication.

    Connecting with an API Token

    Connect to Monday.com by specifying the APIToken. Set the AuthScheme to Token and obtain the APIToken as follows:

    • API tokens for admin users
      1. Log in to your Monday.com account and click on your avatar in the bottom left corner.
      2. Select Admin.
      3. Select "API" on the left side of the Admin page.
      4. Click the "Copy" button to copy the user's API token.
    • API tokens for non-admin users
      1. Click on your profile picture in the bottom left of your screen.
      2. Select "Developers"
      3. Click "Developer" and then "My Access Tokens" at the top.
      4. Select "Show" next to the API token, where you'll be able to copy it.

    Connecting with OAuth Authentication

    Alternatively, you can establish a connection using OAuth (refer to the OAuth section of the Help documentation).

    Built-in Connection String Designer

    For assistance in constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the Monday.com JDBC Driver. Either double-click the JAR file or execute the jar file from the command-line.

    java -jar cdata.jdbc.monday.jar

    Fill in the connection properties and copy the connection string to the clipboard.

    A typical connection string is below:

    APIToken=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.yJ0aWQiOjE0MTc4NzIxMiwidWlkIjoyNzI3ODM3OSwiaWFkIjoiMjAyMi0wMS0yMFQxMDo0NjoxMy45NDFaIiwicGV;
  10. Enter your username and password if necessary.

You can now use your Monday.com connection with the various RapidMiner operators in your process. To retrieve Monday.com data, drag the Retrieve operator from the Operators view. With the Retrieve operator selected, you can then define which table to retrieve in the Parameters view by clicking the folder icon next to the "repository entry." In the resulting Repository Browser, you can expand your connection node to select the desired example set.

Finally, wire the output to the Retrieve process to a result, and run the process to see the Monday.com data.
